Analysis: Newton improved to 5-1 in Monday night games, while averaging 270.5 yards per game with 15 touchdowns and four interceptions. He ran for a season-high 95 yards and has rushed for 181 and a score in his last two games. Newton has a juicy matchup in two weeks against the Jets before a showdown with the first-place Saints.

Analysis: Newton rebounded from a subpar performance in a 14-point road loss to the Bears last week, leading a 17-play, 82-yard TD drive that consumed more eight minutes of the opening quarter, then completed three passes to Christian McCaffrey to set up a field goal for a 10-0 halftime lead. His 44 rushing yards led the team.

He threw three interceptions, didn't fumble and was sacked two times. Newton added 71 rushing yards on 11 carries and scored one touchdown on the ground.
Analysis: Quarterbacks are often responsible for wins and losses, and Newton shares a good deal of the blame for this defeat by making costly turnovers and struggling to push the ball down the field for much of the night. It's still a pretty solid fantasy performance, though, thanks to his excellent rushing totals. The 2015 NFL MVP now has three rushing scores in his last four games along with seven TD passes over his past three, numbers that should keep him in weekly lineups.

Analysis: Newton threw his first TD pass since the season opener, averaging 10.9 yards per attempt after being at 6.8 in his first three contests. Next week, the Panthers are on the road to take on a Lions team which has picked off seven passes and allowed just four TDs through the air.
