Kuchar shoots 66, wins Sony Open

HONOLULU (AP) Matt Kuchar didn't have the start he wanted Sunday in the Sony Open, not with three bogeys in five holes after making just one through three rounds.

The finish was better than he could have imagined.

Kuchar seized control late in the round with back-to-back birdie putts, the second one on No. 16 prompting a rare show of emotion with a fist pump. And when he tapped in for a birdie and a four-shot victory over Andrew Putnam, he looked back across the sky at a rainbow stretching across the sky.

Sanderson Farms changes date, ups purse

JACKSON, Miss. (AP) The Sanderson Farms Championship is moving its tournament dates for next season and increasing its purse money in hopes of attracting a better field.

The PGA Tour announced Tuesday that the tournament will have its own weekend on the schedule from Sept. 19-22 and increase its purse to $6.6 million, which is up from last year's $4.4 million. It will be the second week of the 2019-20 season, one week after The Greenbrier Classic. Read More...
